Materia is a design studio based in the Hudson Valley region of New York that focuses on crafting furniture, lighting and objects which amplify the inherent beauty found in raw, elegant materials such as stone, brass, calfskin, parchment, steel, porcelain and wood.
Drawing from their combined backgrounds in choreography, fashion, landscape design and woodworking, owners Megan Sommerville and Matt Ensner have developed an intuitive and responsive visual language which is at once organic and refined.
